Daytime // My Glow Detox

Many of you have asked about the "Glow Detox" that I mentioned on a recent episode of The LadyGang podcast. I was talking about how before the Grammy Awards my dress did not fit, and that I was doing a 4 day detox to get a perfect red carpet glow and tighten up!

My secret weapon in all of this is Lisa Holowaychuck. She's the Founder of LIFEBYLEESE, a Holistic Nutrition + Lifestyle consulting company, where she help people live their optimal life. One of the major things for me is stress. When I get stressed (which is everyday) I like to drink diet soda, eat nutella out of the jar as a meal and I cannot sleep. I have done other "diets" and worked with other nutritionists but I always felt this immense amount of shame when I didn't do that program perfectly. What I about Lisa is that she really listens, and she laughs at me when I tell her I ate 4 doughnuts. She reminds me it's all about getting back to the veggies and not being too hard on ourselves when we fail. Why is that so hard sometimes?!

Together Lisa and I wanted to give you all an example of what I did for the four days leading up to the Grammy Awards. I really wasn't convinced it would work, but I didn't cheat ONCE. I started to notice my skin glowing, and I woke with my skin feeling tight, and my clothes loose. It's incredible what can happen in just FOUR days. I truly felt like I was glowing from the inside out.

ONE DAY OF KELTIE’S GLOW DETOX:

Upon Waking:

500ml – 1 Liter warm water with half or a whole lemon squeezed in

Green tea – traditional, genmaicha or matcha (plain, not a latte)

Breakfast – Chia Seed Pudding (Chia seeds, nut/seed milk of choice, berries, hemp seeds or nut/seed butter) I use coconut milk and make this the night before, and take it to work with me in the morning. It's so filling, and it feels like a treat. YUM!

Snack – Grapefruit, handful of strawberries or a small handful of raw/unsalted pumpkin seeds(or both if really hungry and active) Who knew pumpkins seeds were so amazing, addicting and healthy?

Lunch- Grilled or Baked (using avocado or coconut oil) wild / organic salmon, Bunch of asparagus, Half an avocado

Snack – Green Juice (Romaine, Kale, Cucumber, Celery, Lemon, Ginger, ½ apple) on an empty stomach + lots and lots and lots of water.

In between meals – Water, Green tea, or herbal tea (peppermint, fennel)

Early Dinner- Roasted Root Veggies with Tahini Dressing & Protein Sprinkle// Roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips, asparagus, beets with coconut or avocado oil at 380 F for 35-40 minutes and then Toss on massaged kale Salad- Bunch of kale massaged with TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar, sprinkle of Himalayan Pink Salt and Tahini Dressing(1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar, 2 TBSP Tahini, squeeze lemon, water to thin (add a tsp. at a time), sprinkle of turmeric + cayenne) you can sprinkle with a 1 TBSP Hemp seeds for added protein

Evening – Chamomile, Sleepy time or Calming Tea

Give your body 10-12 hours between dinner and breakfast to allow full healing, repair and rejuvenating practices while you slumber.

That's it!

So yea, here is the kicker, this is ALOT of food. I ate all day, everyday. I really didn't understand that my belly would get flatter the more GOOD stuff I ate. Lisa says "l As much as I love juicing, and juices I don’t believe cutting calories or simply drinking liquids for a week is both healthy and sustainable.
